Where project labor comes from

Record and review labor

Choose the correct labor type
Use an individual entry for a known employee. Use batch labor only when the crew is being recorded as a group rather than as individual attendance.

Check the work details
Review the employee or crew, project, work date, hours, calculated cost, and any required evidence.

Review the approval status
Pending records still need review. Approved eligible labor can count toward project cost. Rejected labor does not.

Resolve incomplete entries
Open entries or missing evidence should be reviewed before relying on the final project labor total.
Individual labor statuses

Missing Selfie or similar evidence indicators are attention states rather than a replacement for the approval status.
Batch labor
Use batch labor when a crew cost needs to be estimated without creating individual employee records.
Calculate from rate
- Enter crew size, hours, and the applicable rate.
- Prospeno calculates the estimated crew cost.
Enter total cost
- Use the known total crew cost directly.
- No individual employee attendance is created.
Project Labor, Timesheet, and Payroll are different
Project Labor
- Tracks labor cost connected to projects.
- Use it to review the records that affect project labor cost.
Timesheet / Payroll
- Timesheet summarizes employee work records.
- Payroll calculates and reviews employee compensation in its own workflow.
How labor affects project profit
Approved eligible project labor increases actual project cost. If actual labor exceeds the budgeted labor baseline, projected profit and margin can decrease.
- General Work has no project reference, so it does not affect the profit of an individual project.
- Pending, rejected, incomplete, or open labor can make the displayed labor total provisional.
Important notes
- Approval permissions depend on role and route.
- Labor cost visibility may be restricted for Supervisors and Employees.
- Project assignment gives access to the project; it does not create a labor record automatically.
