Overview and audience

Project Labor brings together labor recorded against projects from field attendance, manual entries, and batch crew estimates.

Use this page to review labor activity, check approval status, inspect evidence, and open the correct workflow for individual or batch records.

Project Labor vs Timesheet vs Payroll

Project Labor, Timesheet, and Payroll

Project Labor is not the same as Timesheet or Payroll.
Project Labor tracks labor cost against projects
Timesheet summarizes employee work records
Payroll calculates and reviews employee compensation

Timesheet relationship

Timesheet is a separate workforce page.
It summarizes employee work records for review and reporting.
Project Labor should be used to inspect the actual labor records connected to project cost.

Payroll relationship

Payroll and Salaries are separate from Project Labor.
Project labor cost and employee payroll are related operationally, but they are not the same record.
Batch labor is specifically excluded from employee timesheets and payroll because it does not identify individual employees.

Individual Labor Records

The Individual Labor Records view shows named employee attendance and manual labor entries.

Records may come from:

Prospeno Field attendance
Kiosk Attendance
web attendance
manual labor entry by an Admin or Manager

Each record may show:

employee
project
work date and time
regular hours
overtime where applicable
calculated labor cost
evidence such as selfie or location
approval status
available actions

Individual labor status table

Status	Meaning	Effect
Pending	The record is waiting for review.	Pending labor does not yet count as approved project labor cost.
Approved	The labor record has been reviewed and accepted.	Approved completed individual labor contributes to the project’s actual labor cost.
Rejected	The record was not accepted.	Rejected labor is excluded from approved project cost.
Missing Selfie	The attendance record requires attention because expected photo evidence is missing.	This may appear as a separate filter or exception state.

Batch Labor Records

The Batch Labor Records view is for estimated crew labor that is not tied to individual attendance records.

Batch methods and states

Calculate from rate

Prospeno estimates total labor from the crew size, hours, and entered rate.

Enter total cost

Use this when the company already knows the estimated total crew cost and does not need Prospeno to calculate it from individual rates.

Completed work	The batch entry represents completed crew work. Approval status remains separate from entry status.

Open entries and approval rules

An Open Labor Entry indicator may appear when an employee has started work but has not yet completed the record.

Open entries should be reviewed before relying on the final labor hours and cost.

Assignments and General Work comparison

Project assignments

Project assignments control which projects appear in manager and field workflows.
Assignments do not create labor records automatically.
A user must still record attendance, submit labor, or be included in a manual or batch entry.

General Work

Labor without a project assignment may be recorded as General Work.
General Work does not affect the profit of an individual project because it has no project reference.

How labor affects project profit

Project Labor contributes to actual project cost after the relevant record is completed and approved.

The Command Center compares actual labor with the project’s budgeted labor baseline.
A labor overrun may reduce projected profit and margin.
Pending, rejected, incomplete, or open records may cause the project labor total to remain incomplete or provisional.
